Methi fry (fenugreek-type -2)

Methi Fry

Methi Fry in Marathi

This is another simple and quick version of Methi sabji.

 





Ingredients:-
4 cups methi(fenugreek leaves)
8-10 thin garlic cloves 
1 medium onion chopped

2 green chillies,chopped
salt to taste
1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp roasted peanut/groundnut powder(totally optional)

Method:-
1. Pick methi leaves.Donot chop the leaves.Wash in plenty of water 3,4 times.Soak in water for 5 mins.This removes any soil stuck to the leaves.
2. Drain all the water after 5 mins.Keep it aside for about half an hour.(see tips).
3. In a big flat pan/tawa,heat oil.Add garlic cloves.Let them turn brown on medium-high flame.Add green chillies,chopped onion & saute for 2,3 mins.Add methi leaves(fenugreek leaves).Add roasted peanut powder & stir for 7-10 mins till methi is done.Methi shrinks and reduces in volume.
Then add salt according to taste.
4.Serve hot with chapati or jawar/bajra roti/bhakri.

Tips:-
After washing methi,keep it aside for half an hour.This reduces bitterness of the vegetable. If you like bitter taste of methi use it after washing.
